Gloucestershire Dance
velcro dance company

Velcro is an integrated dance company through which disabled and non-disabled performers and choreographers can develop.

The company devises its own work, performs contemporary dance and undertakes commissions and education work.

The aim is to produce inspiring and powerful dance performances and to influence formal education locally and nationally. It does this through:

  • performance and education work for students and teachers in schools, colleges and in the community
  • performances, talks and workshops at national events such as health conferences and disability awareness platforms
  • working in partnership with further and higher education institutions to encourage inclusion and / or develop courses for disabled artists
  • providing professional development for company members and associates
  • developing effective working processes and choreographic language for integrated dance

Underlying all the company’s work is a belief in equality and empowerment (making Velcro proactively integrated), and the balance between performance and education.

If you are interested in commissioning the company, e-mail helen@gloucestershiredance.org.uk or ring 01452 550 431
