ARTISTIC DIRECTOR:

Marie-Louise Flexen: choreographer and dancer Marie-Louise has played an important role in developing the movement language of Velcro and new approaches to working in an integrated context. Marie-Louise, GD’s Associate Artist, is a prolific performer and choreographer working across the contemporary and commercial sectors.

DANCERS: 

Frank McDaniels: choreographer and dancer.Frank learnt to dance at the National Star College. He is now Associate Artist on CandoCo’s Moving Bodies project.

Hannah de Cancho: choreographer and dancer Hannah toured and co-led educational workshops with Velcro until February 2009 and performed in I am here. She co-choreographed a duet with Frank Mc Daniels: The long walk to freedom. Hannah is currently working with Louise Katerega’s dance company Foot in Hand and is assistant director of Swerve in Swindon. Her own work has been performed in London at The Place Theatre and at many regional venues. She has taught contemporary dance and choreographed for the youth dance companies of GD, Swindon Dance and South Oxfordshire, amongst others. She was recently awarded the Alpha Associate Award to develop her choreographic work. Click here for more information.

Ollie Ellis both dances and plays the role of Education Associate for Velcro.  Ollie is a Bath based dance artist specialising in education work with a specific focus on disability and inclusion. Since being a founder member of Velcro in 1994 Ollie has trained professionally in dance and has carried his passion for inclusion forward, working in a range of education and community settings . Ollie works on a freelance basis for Kompany Malakhi, Find your Talent, Wiltshire Dancing, SPEADA & Mean Feet Dance Company. 

Kim Noble trained at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating in 2008. Most recently Kim has been dancing for The International Dance Festival Birmingham, and performing for choreographers including Tanja Raman, Errol White, Fluer Darkin, Jo Fong and Nigel Charnock. Kim also has been choreographing for several independent projects. She is very excited to be a member of Velcro and is looking forward to performing with the company.

Stephanie Holt trained in dance at Coventry University and is a new recruit to Velcro! 

Jack Mullins (Apprentice) has benefited from many GD classes and courses in the past. Dancing is one of Jack's favourite activities in his long list (including 'girls, music, films, e-mails and football'!).  Jack likes making new friends, moving to the beat of the music, performing and showing what he can do.  He is learning about the discipline of performance, dance leadership and about the choreographic process during his time with Velcro.
