youth - inspiring creativity

GD's Youth Aims:

  • to enable more young people facing disadvantage to engage with dance
  • to support youth talent development, focusing on leadership, inclusion and creativity
  • to network local young people in to wider opportunities in dance and the arts

Currently we run:

  • inclusive county youth companies for both disabled and non-disabled young people demonstrating potential in contemporary or urban dance styles
  • leadership courses and training opportunities
  • a Youth Dance Forum for professionals / organisations
  • monthly 'surgeries' for dance-interested young people wanting to find out more about the dance world.  Click here to book.

We work to network local young people into wider dance and arts networks.  We work closely with a range of partners including:

GD youth forum (aged 14-21)

GD is seeking 9 young people dedicated to the arts to work with GD staff on development of our youth programme.

To register your interest, please email ailsa@gloucestershiredance.org.uk

Legacy of former youth work:

GD's youth outreach programme through which we worked to improve the physical and emotional wellbeing of 11-19 year olds has now ended.  If you have any queries about this Gloucestershire County Council funded project, please contact cath@gloucestershiredance.org.uk.  To find out who has taken on the mangement of the youth companies set up in Cirencester, Lydney, Stroud and Tewkesbury, please follow this link to youth inclusion projects.
